From 15 to 20 September, España Gelato Week 2026 will take visitors on a journey through 35 exclusive gelato creations, crafted by participating gelato shops in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville and Málaga. Developed exclusively for the event, each flavour is inspired by local culinary traditions, regional ingredients or the artisan gelato maker’s own interpretation of Spanish gastronomy.
The special flavours include gelato reinterpretations of iconic Spanish desserts such as Crema Catalana, Churros with Chocolate, Coca de Llanda, Torta Loca and Leche Merengada, alongside recipes showcasing the distinctive products of each region. In Barcelona, flavours feature ingredients such as Mató cheese, Maresme figs, Ratafià liqueur, mountain honey and extra virgin olive oil. Valencia highlights orange blossom, chufa (tigernut), pomegranate and orange blossom honey, while Seville celebrates citrus fruits, orange blossom and Pedro Ximénez wine. Málaga pays tribute to local sweet wine, goat’s cheese and other traditional ingredients, while Madrid honours its culinary heritage with flavours inspired by vermouth castizo, churros and the capital’s most iconic desserts.
Visitors will be able to choose between two ticket options, available through the official España Gelato Week 2026 website. Depending on the selected tasting format, gelato lovers can enjoy either a two-flavour cup or a three-flavour cone or cup at each participating gelato shop. The event offers a unique opportunity to discover how artisan gelato can celebrate the identity, culture and flavours of each local area.
